Agenda highlights in brief (too late now to get your pet issue on the agenda):
- Call to order and all that before meeting ceremony
- Consent Agenda - approval/disapproval of minutes, voucher payouts.
- No old business this week (unless you think of recurring issues as old business. According to Roberts, t'ain't necessarily so)
- New business: Aproval of raises (billing clerk, animal control, MVD); ddresses to council by Joan Page (street change - making the block of Sunset one way next to elementary school), Ed von Kutzleben (Polizei issues), Earl Campbell (antenna installation and grant writing).
- Executive session if needed for reports from department heads. My own limited experience is that some heads report each time but never all of them at the same meeting and some only rarely). Departments include admin, maintenance, animal control, housing, library, MVD, fire dept, judicial.
- Announcements just before adjournment - next meeting (Nov 6); reminder to return folder packets to town clerk. Don't ask me what those are because I would only be guessing.
Meeting open to the public. Complete copies of agenda available at Town Hall.
Thanks for posting this. I usually don't get around enough to catch what's on the agenda but i ALWAYS read my emails.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, i saw that there's a "movie night" on the 2nd. Have you caught wind of this? I saw the flyer at B-Street.
I usually forget to pick up an agenda. I've asked to have the agenda sent me as an attachment - been OK'd and I have "permission to remind" until it becomes habit.
ReplyDeleteGranted there may not always be something on the agenda that draws my attention enough to bring me out in the evening, but when there is and I miss it, then I've missed the meeting it gets discussed and decided. Like you and no doubt others as well, I usually don't get around enough to catch the posted flyer. I bet we aren't the only ones.
That could be why so some issues may not get the exposure they should before decision making. Unless the word gets out, only the petitioner, the council and whoever just happens to show up get their say.
Speaking of which, can I tap you for Planning & Zoning Commission meeting agendas? I'd blog those too.
I picked up a flyer for movie night same time as the agenda and will blog it too but on a separate post.
what about someone reporting on town council meetings?
