Cool - I was born the day of the first moon walk and didn't know it.
The most significant happenings for my year 1943 run to the negative or ambivalent... WW2 ongoing; Roosevelt and Churchill at Casablanca Conference; Mussolini deposed; withholding tax introduced; Pentagon completed, becoming the largest office building in the world.
Cost of a first-class stamp: $0.03
This makes for interesting comparisons - let's all check birth years and post something from it .... AND the cost of a 1st class stamp :-)
My year is 1978.
"Framework for Peace" in Middle East signed by Egypt's President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Premier Menachem Begin after 13-day conference at Camp David led by President Jimmy Carter (Sept. 17).
(we all know now how well THAT worked)
Jim Jones's followers commit mass suicide in Jonestown, Guyana (Nov. 18).
I guess it's too late to ask for another birth year.
Oh yeah, and a first class stamp went from 13 to 15 cents and the first Walkman appeared on the market.
